Overview
Two-way SMS system for appointment reminders, confirmations and no-show recovery. I built a Twilio + n8n system that reads upcoming appointments from Google Calendar and sends timed SMS reminders. Patients reply in plain text — 'confirm', 'reschedule', 'cancel' — and an OpenAI layer interprets the reply and updates the calendar automatically, offering new slots for no-shows. Built with Twilio, n8n, OpenAI, Google Calendar, this ai automation project was delivered for a client in USA and designed for reliability, a clean user experience and long-term maintainability — so it keeps delivering value well after launch.
The challenge
A clinic was losing revenue to no-shows. Reminder calls ate up front-desk time, and there was no easy way for patients to confirm, cancel or reschedule.
